Lovely cottage set in beautiful woodland with the sound of the waterfall. Angela and David are very warm and friendly and they made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The welcome goodies were much appreciated. Thanks once again.

We have been to St Breward many times but this was our first stay at Darrynane cottages. What an amazing find! Beautiful and comfortable cottage and the garden is stunning with the sound of the waterfall. All dog proof and the dogs settled in really quickly. Angela and David were both incredibly helpful, warm and friendly. We were so impressed that we were driving home and have already provisionally booked for a stay at Christmas. Thank you both, hopefully see you in the not too distant future! xx

Dear Angela and David, We had a wonderful week in ‘The Lodge’ in May 2018. The Lodge had everything we could possibly need and the location was truly beautiful and peaceful. Our lovely hosts couldn’t do enough for us and the complimentary cream tea was delicious, it was the perfect treat after our long drive from up North. Our dog Poppy, had a fabulous holiday too! Your Review: Our first time visiting Cornwall.My Husband and  I and 4 dogs enjoyed our stay immensely. We love Darrynane we have booked Lakeside for next year. Our dogs enjoyed the woodland at the back of the property. Angela and David were so welcoming and friendly.. highly recommend to holiday at Darrynane.

I cant explain how much we enjoyed our week,the lodge is beautiful,and it was just so nice to be away from everything,so peaceful. I think the dogs have now recovered from walking every inch of the moors!. We will definately be back again. Thankyou so much Lorraine and Simon

First stayed at Darrynane in 2002 at The Lodge for our honeymoon. Arrived to a lovely warm welcome from Angela & David and a lovely welcome pack which was well received after a 5 hour drive. Beautiful well equipped cosy cottage with access to the amazing private woodland and secure gardens for our 2 dogs. These days we need the much larger Riverside cottage. The pictures really don’t do justice to the perfection which awaits you when you arrive. All your home from home comforts but with acres of woodland and a waterfall thrown in. Angela and David are the perfect hosts, close by when you need them and more than happy to make sure your stay is perfect. We arrived home 2 days ago and have already booked for next year. We’ve visited many countries over the years but the beauty of Cornwall and the perfection of Darrynane has left us not wanting to go anywhere else.

The Lodge, located within beautiful wooded surroundings, provided us with total peace and quiet and very comfortable accommodation with every possible facility. Upon arrival, Angela and David made us feel very welcome and throughout our stay were most attentive to our needs. We loved The Lodge which was just to our liking and we felt very much at home. We found the location ideal for visiting numerous local attractions which we loved, particularly Tintagel and Port Isaac yet we were not too far removed from the very western tip of Cornwall which enabled us to spend a wonderful day at St Michael’s Mount, which we had never visited before. In summation we had a terrific time with excellent hosts who we fully expect to meet again in the not too distant future. We would thoroughly recommend The Lodge to our family and friends. Had a really nice stay at Riverside Cottage. David and Angela were very welcoming and and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage itself was clean and well appointed, cosy and comfortable and we were very happy idea. It’s situated in a very lovely, quiet spot with a river running next to it and a nice garden, secluded and tranquil. Importantly it was very dog friendly, completely fenced, so we we comfortable letting the dog roam around the cottage knowing she was safe. All in all a great holiday in a nice cottage, will definitely visit again. Date of arrival 03 June 2016

This was our fith visit to Darrynane and we have all ready booked for next year. We have stayed in three out of the four cottages all of which are well equipped and comfortable. Angala and David will do every thing to make your stay pleasant . Stables have got acces to a really lovely water fall and both stables and riverside cottages have that wonderful sound water rippling over the rocks and the rusling of the trees in the wood. The old inn at the top of the village is a must and boasts as being the highest pub in Cornwall. Darrynane is well placed for lots of places of interest and the lovely beaches. An ideal place for a family holiday or a tranquil location for some peace and quiet. We loved exploring the woodland with our grandson and enjoyed the many walks from the cottage.Within 30 minutes drive we were at the beach and visited National Trust properties all in easy reach. On cooler evenings we relaxed by the wood burner and on warmer ones made the most of the patio and bbq with wildlife all around . The cottage is well equipped with everything you may need to self cater although we found many good eating places in the locality. We had the most relaxing fabulous holiday whilst visiting nearby relatives.  My two border collies especially had a great time and particularly loved the waterfall.  So good having peace of mind the garden is dog proof so they could wander in the garden as they pleased.  The Stables was fantastic, so much so I have already booked again for next year.  Thank you Angela and David, glad to have finally made it this year!

We enjoyed a short stay at the cottage which was very well equipped and our Bichon enjoyed it too and was very safe for her. We enjoyed scones,jam and cream also a sherry – thank you so much David and Angela I am sure we will visit again.

Had the most amazing week. The sun was shining,  This was our 2nd stay here and again had the best time. As ever the dogs loved it with all the great walks and beaches not far away. Thanks again to David and Angela for everything, especially the scones !! We will be back next summer.

This is the older cottage, and hugely cosy, comfortable and blissfully situated. the owners are so helpful and delightful and the place is perfectly idyllic. Gorgeous scones and sherry wen we arrived and genuine friendlness from the owners.  terrific.

Lisa & Alex Stayed The Lodge January 2015   What a lovely place to stay.  The Lodge had everything you need.  Including a well equipped kitchen, lots of TV channels, WFI and a log burner (although there are enough heaters without).  The setting is wonderful, woodland and a fast flowing river nearby.  Quit central for visits around Cornwall.  Even though it was a wet weekend we really enjoyed it and will be returning.

The cottage is perfect. the cream teas and sherry was lovely. We are all chilled out and relaxed – heavenly here at Darrynane and we’ve visited beautiful places, Cornwall is just perfect too.

We enjoyed our stay here so much last Spring that we decided to come for a fortnight this time. We weren’t so lucky with the weather but still managed to get out and about with the dogs – we will be back!

Our first stay in self catering that really was wheelchair accessible – Angela and David are lovely folk who are great to have around in a crisis too – nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was clean, comfortable and very warm – perfect for me!

Our first stay at Darrynane and our last getaway as a couple before the bump arrives in April. We have had such a lovely, relaxing few days and Doza, our dog,  has had the time of his life especially down in the waterfall with all the sticks!  The Stables is fantastic and very cosy with all the amenities – great place to celebrate my birthday and New Year’s day – thank you.

It was our first visit to Darrynane and the Stables, Angela and David were so welcoming we were made to feel like old friends.  The Stables is beautiful and so well equipped.  Our 13 year old westie and 10 month old cairn terrier thought they were in doggie paradise and the puppy loved playing with the adorable pebbles. Lots reminds us of Costa Rica or New Zealand but no it was Bodmin moorland in Cornwall, sleeping nearby a waterfall was romantic – the cottage had everything we needed to feel home – thanks.

Riverside has been a fabulous base for exploring Cornwall and Devon. David and Angela have done a beautiful job of the place and made us very welcome, we loved it! Thank you for the scones with cream and jam!

It’s been our ninth visit in 10 years and we’ve enjoyed it as much as ever! This year we visited a few new places – Port Isaac, Watergate Bay etc (despite a little less sunshine than we’re usually lucky to have) We can’t wait to come back next year for more walks around here, building dams in the river and paddles in the sea!
